Derick Springsteen Close is Chairman of Springs Creative, a diversified textile and creative services company based in Rock Hill, SC. He holds degrees from NC State and UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School, and also leads other ventures including Springsteen Capital, Springsteen Properties, and Workhorse Shared Services. Derick is Chairman of the Springsteen Foundation and serves on the Executive committees on the Good Fellows board,  Charlotte Metro YMCA, Charlotte Regional Business Alliance, North Carolina Executive Leadership Group, South Carolina Chamber of Commerce, and the Palmetto Business Alliance. He was a partner in the Carolina Panthers and the Winston Salem Dash.

He served previously on the UNC System board, Johnson and Wales University, and currently serves on the NCState Board of Trustees.

He and his wife, Sallie, have three children Baxter, Claude, and Craddock, daughter in law Mary Reeves, and son in law John Petrone and a grandson, Jack Petrone,  and granddaughters Sallie and Reeves Close.
